YOUNG PATRON OF THE ARTS CARD

DISCUSSION SUNDAYS:
After the performance on the first Sunday of each run the audience is invited to stay for a post-show discussion with the cast and directors of the shows. Occasionally, special guests join in the discussion. Topics explored include (and not limited to) the history of the original production, including composers, lyricists, and book writers as well as, the backgrounds of the original Broadway cast members.

HIGHSCHOOL STUDENT INVITED DRESS:

42nd Street Moon is proud to announce the start of a new educational program, STUDENT INVITED DRESS.

The second dress rehearsal of each 42nd Street Moon musical -- the final run-through before audiences see it -- will now be reserved for students from San Francisco's SCHOOL OF THE ARTS, who will attend the performance for free as part of a new program beginning with our 2005-06 opener,
RED HOT AND BLUE!

On the Wednesday night before each show's first preview, SOTA students will meet in the Eureka Theatre one hour prior to a special 7pm performance. Moon Artistic Director Greg MacKellan, along with each show's directors, will lead a discussion about the play's creators (this season including Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, and Jerry Herman). The students will learn about the time period of the show, placing it in the context of the social history of the era when it premiered. Other historical facts, which were pertinent to the show's original presentation, will be discussed, as well as stories of how each piece was originally written and rehearsed.

Following the performance, the students will have the opportunity to meet the cast in question and answer session.

FAMILY MATINEE:
Our Matinee for
ROAR OF THE GREASEPAINT SMELL OF THE CROWD (December 3, 2005) is special: children under 16 (with an adult) are admitted free for an afternoon of theatre fun. Activity guides are designed for the performance and distributed at the theatre. A pre-show talk welcomes families and mentions special things that children should look for during the show. Families enjoy punch and cookies during intermission and have the opportunity to meet cast members after the show.
