One Touch of Venus dazzled audiences in 1943 with its sweetly sexy book and beguiling score. A statue of the goddess Venus is brought to life and creates comic chaos as she pursues the mild-mannered barber who accidentally animated her -- and is pursued herself by an unscrupulous art enthusiast! The score includes Weill’s immortal love song SPEAK LOW, as well as I’M A STRANGER HERE MYSELF, THAT’S HIM, DR. CRIPPEN, THE TROUBLE WITH WOMEN, WESTWIND.
